Idiot With A Tripod: Watch the Video

Idiot with a Tripod is the final product of tons of snow, stuck cars, and Jamie Stuart from the massive storm that hit the Northeast recently. That being said, famed film critic Roger Ebert loves it. The short film is only three minutes long, and is just about snow. Lots of it. Snow in Queens more like it. Snow in the sense that dogs can’t go outside, cars are stuck and it was all caught on film.

Jamie Stuart stated he took a few shots outside, spending no more than than a hour and a half in the snow at one time. Then the next day, edited and uploaded the Idiot with a Tripod.

Hey I think it’s good. Hell it’s better than most of the movies out today. Maybe he could have gotten more scenes of dogs trying to go to the bathroom and people getting cars unstuck. Added in some the Benny Hill theme song and some people falling. Now that’s would be a classic! Check out the Idiot with a Tripod below.

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake shook portions of central Indiana on Thursday, prompting a wave of calls to local authorities from rattled residents.

The U.S. Geological Survey lowered its initial estimate of a magnitude 4.2 earthquake. The USGS said on its website that the quake, which was about three miles deep, occurred at 7:55 a.m. EST Thursday and was centered about five miles south of Greentown in Howard County, about 50 miles north of Indianapolis.

The USGS said the quake was felt by people as far away as Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Wisconsin. Geophysicist Randy Baldwin said a quake of that magnitude would feel like a loaded truck passing by. No damage was immediately reported, and Mr. Baldwin said he didn't expect any.

Howard County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Steve Rogers said the department was bombarded by phone calls after the quake from people wondering if there had been an explosion. He said some people reported hearing a loud boom.

Brie Larson: A Biography

Brie Larson is an American actress and pop rock singer/songwriter. She is best known for her roles in United States of Tara, Sleepover and Remember The Daze and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World . Her debut album Finally Out of P.E. was released in October 2005. She was born in Sacramento, California. She decided to be an actress when she was seven years old and was one of the youngest students of the American Conservatory Theater. She moved to Los Angeles, California in 1998, right before her ninth birthday. She currently lives in Los Angeles and has a younger sister, Mimsy.
Larson's first job was performing in sketches on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Soon after, she was cast in the television series, Schimmel, which was announced but never aired, since right before filming, Robert Schimmel was diagnosed with cancer. After being "on hold" for ten months FOX canceled the show. Three weeks later she auditioned for a new show on The WB, which at the time was called In Your Dreams. Larson landed the role of Emily (the youngest daughter to Bob Saget's character). The show was selected for the 2001–2002 fall season and was renamed Raising Dad, but was canceled late into the season, so she was not able to audition for a new series until the next pilot season. Larson was also cast in the pilot for the ABC sitcom, Hope and Faith, but she and some of the other cast members were dropped.
In 2003, Larson was cast as Courtney Enders in the Disney Channel Original Movie Right on Track, which was based on a true story. In July 2004, she co-starred with a large cast of teen actors in the film Sleepover. She also had a small role in the movie, 13 Going on 30.

Larson also appeared in the film Hoot, opposite actors Logan Lerman and Cody Linley, both of whom are very good friends of hers. The film opened on May 5, 2006. Larson's voice is also featured in the movie Farce of the Penguins as a teenage penguin. She played Angie in the 2007 comedy/drama Remember the Daze.
Larson appeared in the 2008 short film The Babysitter, written and directed by David H. Steinberg and co-starring Josh Cooke, Molly Hagan and John Kapelos. The film can be seen exclusively online at Atom Films.

Larson appeared in an episode of Ghost Whisperer in January 2008. She also has a role as Kate in the 2008 film, Tanner Hall, directed by Francesca Gregorini and Tatiana von Furstenberg.

Isabelle Caro: An Anorexic Model Died at 28

Isabelle Caro was a French model from Marseille, France, who became well-known after appearing in a controversial ad campaign "No Anorexia" which showed Caro with vertebrae and facial bones protruding in a picture by photographer Oliviero Toscani.
She suffered from severe anorexia nervosa since she was 13 years old. Her anorexia was caused by what she calls a "troubled childhood." When she appeared on CBS's The Insider, it was revealed that at the worst of her eating disorder, her weight had gone as low as 25 kilograms (55 lb; 3 st 13 lb) at a height of 1.65 metres (5 ft 5 in); her most recent weight was 33 kilograms (73 lb; 5 st 3 lb).
She appeared on C4's Supersize vs Superskinny which aired on 11 March 2008, in which she spoke to journalist Anna Richardson about her anorexia. Caro was hospitalized for the first time when she was 20. At her worst, in 2006, she slipped into a coma, weighing just 55 pounds (25 kg; 3 st 13 lb). The doctor said she wouldn't survive the coma but she did.

Caro was also interviewed in the second episode of the TV documentary series, The Price of Beauty, in which Jessica Simpson and her two best friends, Ken Pavés and CaCee Cobb, traveled the world to explore the meaning of true beauty. Jessica investigated the problem of how some female fashion models have become obsessed with being skinny. Caro talked about how she became anorexic and warned other girls about the affliction. Jessica was moved to say “What you are doing right now makes you more beautiful and I hope women all over the world hear about the story and it is important to know that how skinny you are does not make you beautiful.” The episode was set entirely in France, where a key philosophy of beauty is to enjoy each moment and live it to the fullest, known as joie de vivre in French. It aired on March 22, 2010 in the USA and on August 21 in Japan.

New Miley Cyrus Leaked Photos

Several weeks after she was seen sucking on a bong containing what was believed to be the psychoactive plant salvia, the “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus, is again embroiled in a controversy after several racy pictures of her started circulating the Internet.
RadarOnline.com obtained the skankalicious pic, with Miley being prodded and air-licked by a chick. Evidently, this girl is Miley's makeup artist.

Miley definitely knows the pic was being taken, because she’s staring right into the lens. It appears that they’re out at a club—so that means Miley intentionally wore that outfit out.

Microsoft Reveals Windows Phone 7 Sales Figures

Microsoft is out with its first official sales number for the new Windows Phone 7 Smartphones: 1.5 million in six weeks. The number was revealed by Achim Berg, vice president of business and marketing for Windows Phones, in a Q&A posted to Microsoft’s website. Berg says the number is, “in line with our expectations – especially when compared to other new platform introductions.”
While that’s a fraction of the sales being reported by Google and Apple (there are currently around 300,000 Android devices being activated daily and 3 million iPhone’s were sold in the device’s first three weeks on the market), it is perhaps better than some were projecting given Microsoft’s unwillingness to talk numbers in recent public appearances by executives.

Earlier this month at All Things Digital’s D: Dive Into Mobile conference, Microsoft Corporate VP for Windows Phone Joe Belfiore acknowledged it would likely be years before Windows Phone 7 comes close to rivaling the market share of its competitors. At least we now have a starting point by which to draw comparisons.

Actor Injured from a Fall During "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" Performance

An actor performing in the Broadway musical “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” was injured during a performance Monday night, according to the police and several witnesses.

Theatergoers who attended Monday’s performance of “Spider-Man,” a $65 million musical featuring complicated aerial stunts, said that they saw a performer playing the title hero fall about 8 to 10 feet into a pit during the closing minutes of the show, and that some equipment fell into the audience when this occurred. A video of the performance showed a line holding the performer apparently snap.

A police spokesman confirmed that a male actor was injured at about 10:42 p.m. and taken to Bellevue Hospital Center. No other information was immediately released.

A spokesman for the musical, e-mailing a few hours after the incident, did not identify the injured actor, but said that it was not Reeve Carney, the lead actor who plays Spider-Man and his alter ego, Peter Parker. Other actors play Spider-Man throughout the show during various stunts and action sequences.

On Tuesday morning, news media representatives for “Spider-Man” did not immediately reply to an inquiry about the identity of the actor or his status. However, the “Spider-Man” actress Natalie Mendoza, who plays the spider-goddess Arachne, wrote on her Twitter feed: “Please pray with me for my friend Chris, my superhero who quietly inspires me everyday with his spirit. A light in my heart went dim tonight.” She appeared to be referring to her fellow cast member Christopher Tierney, who is an aerialist and ensemble member in the musical. Bellevue Hospital Center confirmed that on Monday night it had received a patient by that name.

Steven Tartick, an audience member, said the accident occurred during a scene when Spider-Man is rescuing his love interest, Mary Jane, as she dangles from a rope attached to a bridge.

Mr. Tartick said he saw the actor playing Spider-Man appear to trip and fall from the bridge, into an open pit at the end of the stage.

“You heard screams,” Mr. Tartick said. “You heard a woman screaming and sobbing.”

Mr. Tartick said there was a blackout, and then the house lights in the theater were restored. An announcement made in the theater first said there would be a delay in the performance. The announcement was then updated to say the show was over.

Scott Smith and Matthew Smith, brothers who attended Monday’s “Spider-Man” performance, watched the show from the balcony of the Foxwoods Theater. In an interview outside the theater, Matthew Smith said: “It looked like it was supposed to happen. But he fell at a faster pace. It didn’t look right.”

Brian Lynch, an audience member, described the scene at the Foxwoods Theater on his Twitter feed, writing: “Stopped short near end. Someone took nasty fall. Screaming. 911 called. No idea what happened, kicked audience out.” He added: “No joke. No explanation. MJ and Spidey took what seemed to be a planned fall into the stage pit. Then we heard MJ screaming.”

In a telephone interview, Ms. Bord said two ambulances and a fire truck were already waiting outside the theater when most audience members exited. The actor was quickly brought out on a stretcher, wrapped in protective gear and wearing a neck brace. He acknowledged the crowd, which clapped for him before an ambulance took him away. Ms. Bord said this transpired in no more than five or 10 minutes.

Alex Rodriguez got the height of 6'3", Peyton Manning is 6'5", Michael Phelps is 6'4" and LeBron James got the height of 6'7".

It looks like height indeed does matter! Especially in these games, these players got not only game…but they got height. That's why many people many say, "Height is Might."

Beef O' Brady's Bowl: Louisville vs. Southern Miss

Louisville and Southern Miss didn't play for conference championships this season, however, both programs came closer than many outside of Louisville and Hattiesburg may have realized.

The Cardinals improved by two games, from 4-8 to 6-6, in a weakened Big East. Louisville plays solid defense and has one elite difference-maker on offense (running back Bilal Powell).

The 2010 campaign marked the 17th straight winning season for the Golden Eagles. Enter Charlie Strong this season and some low expectations. Point Spread: Southern Miss +2.5. Louisville’s Edge: Bilal Powell. A first-team all-Big East performer this season, Powell used his blend of size and speed to rush for 1,330 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the season, the junior passed for 2,898 yards and 18 scores while chipping in 10 rushing touchdowns.

Froman took the bulk of the snaps and averaged 204 yards per game through eight games while throwing 11 touchdowns.
Louisville - TE Cameron Graham, RB Bilal Powell, CB Johnny Patrick

Bowl History: Southern Miss - The Golden Eagles are 9-11 all-time in bowl games and will be making their ninth straight bowl appearance. Louisville rush offense vs. Southern Miss rush defense: Despite being hobbled by injuries late in the season, senior Bilal Powell averaged 120.9 rushing yards per game. Southern Miss has a highly ranked but inconsistent run defense. Edge: Louisville.

Louisville pass offense vs. Southern Miss pass defense: Senior Justin Burke will start his fifth consecutive game in place of Adam Froman, who missed the last part of the season with a thigh bruise. Southern Miss' pass defense has been awful recently. The Eagles allowed a combined 873 passing yards in the past two games (Houston and Tulsa) and 21 touchdown passes in the past seven games. Edge: Louisville.

Southern Miss rush offense vs. Louisville rush defense: Southern Miss has three capable backs. QB Austin Davis can move a little, too; he rushed for 436 yards and a team-leading 10 touchdowns. Louisville's run defense has struggled at times, but the Cardinals held Jordan Todman to a season-low 80 yards in a shutout of Connecticut. Edge: Southern Miss.

Southern Miss pass offense vs. Louisville pass defense: With touted junior WR DeAndre Brown injured for most of the season, Davis has spread the ball around. Four receivers (including Brown) have had a 100-yard game, seven have had at least one touchdown catch and six finished the regular season with at least 20 catches. That kind of spread offense could limit the impact of Louisville's top cornerback, Johnny Patrick, who had five of Louisville's nine interceptions this season.

Louisville special teams vs. Southern Miss special teams: If the game comes down to a kick, Southern Miss will have an advantage with Groza Award finalist Danny Hrapmann, a junior who was 26-of-30 on field-goal attempts, including two of at least 50 yards. Reggie Hunt became the main kick returner in the second half of the season, and he is averaging 28.6 yards per return. Louisville's Doug Beaumont is one of the top punt returners in the country at 15.3 yards per return, with a touchdown. Both teams have been excellent in punt coverage but awful in kickoff coverage. Edge: Southern Miss.

Louisville coaches vs. Southern Miss coaches: Both coaches have guided their teams through adversity this season, particularly Southern Miss' Larry Fedora. On the field, both teams needed to overcome injuries to key players (Brown and starting LB Martez Smith for Southern Miss, Froman and Powell for Louisville). Each of Southern Miss' three C-USA losses was by a touchdown or less. Strong led one of the best turnarounds in the Big East by ending Louisville's bowl drought. Edge: Louisville.

X-factor: Both teams have had three weeks off, but the layoff may be more beneficial for the Cardinals. Burke wasn't the starter until the final month of the season, and the extra practice should help, especially against a defense that has struggled. Powell faced injury and illness in the last four games of the season, and presumably will be 100 percent.

Louisville will win if: The Cardinals need to win the game on the ground. It's a clich?but for these teams, it's true: The team that runs the ball will win. Southern Miss averaged 227.6 rushing yards in its wins and only 155 in its losses. The same is true for Louisville: The Cardinals rushed for 212 yards in wins and 149 yards in losses.

Southern Miss will win if: The Golden Eagles need to make Louisville face some third-and-longs. Sothern Miss' defense has struggled, for the most part, but there is an area where the Eagles have been the best in their league: third-down defense. Southern Miss led C-USA in that category, allowing opponents to convert first downs only 33 percent of the time.

Mark Madoff, Son of Imprisoned Investment Fraud Personage Bernard Madoff, Commited Suicide

The oldest son of Bernard Madoff, Mark Madoff, committed suicide on Saturday morning. Mark Madoff was found by family members in his New York apartment Saturday morning, according to law enforcement sources. The sources said that Madoff hanged himself using a black dog leash and was found by his father-in-law. Saturday is the second anniversary of Bernard Madoff's arrest in what is thought to be the largest Ponzi scheme in U.S. history.

Madoff, 46, was the head trader at his father's firm. Mark and his younger brother Andrew Madoff, who also worked at the firm, have denied they knew about the fraud. "Mark was an innocent victim of his father's monstrous crime who succumbed to two years of unrelenting pressure from false accusations and innuendo," his lawyer, Martin Flumenbaum, said in a statement.

No charges have been brought against the brothers, but authorities have said they are continuing to investigate. In the fall of 2009 the brothers, their uncle and their cousin were sued for almost $200 million by the trustee who is collecting money for victims of Madoff.
Earlier this week the trustee filed another suit against the brothers and other family members in a British court. The Madoff brothers reportedly went to the authorities after their father confessed his crime to them on Dec. 10, 2008. A day later Bernard Madoff was arrested. Madoff is in federal prison in North Carolina serving a 150-year sentence.

Crystal Lynn Bowersox

Crystal Lynn Bowersox is an American singer-songwriter from Elliston, Ohio, who was the runner-up in the 9th season of American Idol. Bowersox's debut album, Farmer's Daughter, will be released on December 14, 2010 under Jive Records. Bowersox auditioned in American Idol in Chicago, Illinois. She sang "Piece of My Heart" and the guest judge Shania Twain said that she had a "raw, natural talent." On March 2, 2010, Bowersox was sent to hospital because of complications from diabetes, compelling a last minute switch in scheduling to give her extra time to recuperate. Bowersox confirmed the illness on May 19, 2010 during an interview with host Ryan Seacrest. The men competed that day instead of the women. She sang the next day and impressed all of the judges. The following week, her strong performance prompted Simon Cowell to state, "Right now, you are the one everyone has to beat." After Siobhan Magnus' elimination from the top 6 of American Idol, Bowersox became the last remaining female contestant in the competition.

Bowersox is the first female contestant to make it to the finale since Jordan Sparks won the title in 2007. Also, Crystal is the first contestant in American Idol history to have one of their original songs played on the show, or at least during their hometown package. Crystal's original song "Holy Toledo" was played on the May 19th Top 3 Results show as the background music for her homecoming package - when she returned to Toledo, Ohio and Elliston, Ohio the previous weekend - and segued into her live performance of the same song at "Bowerstock."

During her time on Idol, Bowersox dated Tony Kusian, but the couple broke up just hours before the American Idol finale. On the final performance day, in Simon Cowell's final critique on American Idol, he called her performance of "Up to the Mountain", "outstanding" and by far, "the best performance and song of the night".And on May 26, Bowersox was named the runner-up to winner Lee DeWyze.

ZABERNISM

Zabernism is a term that often come up in World of Warcraft circles, but it is also used in other military realms as well. Zabernism is defined as abusive misuse of military authority; bullying (From the German name for Saverne, a town in Alsace. The term originated from an incident in 1912 involving an overzealous soldier who killed a cobbler for smiling at him.)

Term Usage: "He led his people to destroy the militarism of Zabern; and the army they rescued is busy in Cologne imprisoning every German who does not salute a British officer; whilst the government at home, asked whether it approves, replies that it does not propose even to discontinue this Zabernism when the Peace is concluded, but in effect looks forward to making Germans salute British officers until the end of the world." - Heartbreak House, George Bernard Shaw

The Dream Act 2010

WASHINGTON - The House passed a legislation last Wednesday to administer foreign-born youth brought to the country illegally a shot at legal status, a fleeting victory for an effort that appears doomed in the Senate. The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act — or DREAM Act — passed 216-198, which the House bill's co-sponsor, Jared Polis, D-Boulder, called a "strong vote." He said Americans should be proud of the estimated 825,000 students affected by the bill, as "our sons and daughters, neighbors, classmates, prom kings and queens, football players and cheerleaders who stayed in school, played by the rules, worked hard, stayed out of trouble."

House Republicans repeatedly referred to the DREAM Act as a "nightmare." "This bill is not the American dream, it's the amnesty dream," said Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ga. Polis argued on the House floor that children should not be punished for their parents' illegal immigration. "If you are pulled over for a speeding ticket and you have a child in a car-seat next to you, that 2-year-old doesn't get the speeding ticket," he said. The Senate is expected Thursday to vote on whether to advance similar legislation, but it's unlikely Democrats can muster the 60 votes needed to advance it. Colorado's two Democratic senators, Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, are co-sponsors of the Senate version.

President Obama has made an intense public push in recent days in favor of the measure, eager to demonstrate his commitment to Hispanic voters, a key voting bloc alienated by his failure to push broader immigration legislation. With the GOP taking control of the House and representing a stronger minority in the Senate next year, failure to enact the legislation now dims the prospects for a path toward legalization for the nation's millions of undocumented immigrants. Despite the obstacles ahead for the bill, supporters were pleased Wednesday night. "This is a historic vote, a major victory for thousands of students who want to serve our nation and theirs by going to college or by military service, said Julien Ross, executive director of the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition.

She is mentioned in Grand Funk Railroad's song "We're an American Band" ("Sweet, sweet Connie, doin' her act/ She had the whole show and that's a natural fact.")

Hamzy personally claims to have given oral sex to various members of the many bands that have traveled through Little Rock. Her alleged groupie escapades were detailed in a Cosmopolitan profile in 1974, and in 1992 she wrote a tell-all article for Penthouse. In 1991, Hamzy was briefly in the news due to her claim that, in 1984, she had been approached by an Arkansas state trooper on behalf of Bill Clinton. She claimed that she and Clinton had looked for "a place where they could have some privacy for an assignation, but couldn't find one." George Stephanopoulos later recounted that Clinton told him a different story of his meeting with Hamzy. According to Clinton, Hamzy had approached him in a hotel lobby, flipped down her bikini top, and asked him, "What do you think of these?" Stephanopoulos secured affidavits from three people who had been accompanying Clinton and confirmed Clinton's recollection. When asked about Hamzy by reporters, Stephanopoulos responded by denying the story off the record and offering to provide the affidavits, also off the record. Although CNN Headline News reported Hamzy's allegations once, neither CNN nor other mainstream news organizations pursued the story further.

Hamzy published a memoir in 1995 under the title Rock Groupie: The Intimate Adventures of "Sweet Connie" from Little Rock. In 1996, Hamzy sought to run as an independent for the United States House of Representatives from Arkansas' 2nd congressional district, but ultimately did not appear on the general election ballot. Hamzy was featured in a segment of the Insomniac with Dave Attell episode on Little Rock.

Google Chrome OS

Google Chrome OS is a forthcoming Linux-based, open source operating system designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. First announced on July 7, 2009, Chrome OS was originally intended to be publicly available as a stable release by the northern hemisphere "late fall" of 2010 according to Google. On 15 November 2010 Google CEO Eric Schmidt confirmed that the new operating system would not be released until early 2011. A public demonstration Chrome OS took place on December 7, 2010 and Google confirmed an official launch in 2011 at that time.

Chrome OS will not be available as a download to run and install. Instead, the operating system will only ship on specific hardware from Google's manufacturing partners. The user interface takes a minimalist approach, resembling that of the Chrome web browser. Because the only application on the device will be a browser incorporating a media player, Google Chrome OS is aimed at users who spend most of their computer time on the Internet.

Google Chrome OS is initially intended for secondary devices like netbooks, not as a user's primary PC, and will run on hardware incorporating an x86 or ARM-based processor. While Chrome OS will support hard disk drives, Google has requested that its hardware partners use solid-state drives due to their higher performance and reliability, as well as the lower capacity requirements inherent in an operating system that accesses applications and most user data on remote servers. Google Chrome OS consumes one-sixtieth as much drive space as Windows 7. Companies developing hardware for the operating system include Acer, Adobe, Asus, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Intel, Samsung Australia, and Dell.
